Interchange

Tokyo resident Ken Ohyama posted this really stunning set of photographs taken of highway interchanges in Tokyo. The fluid, serpentine architecture is photographed from below, and I was drawn to this because I usually admire from above the interstate that flows beneath a bridge near my apartment-especially at night, you can see the cars running into the city like a river of lights. I've seen the road from both sides now!

Sometimes the Sad Truth is Up Before You Are

I changed the name of the blog today. This new title comes form a Mary Ruefle poem called "Things to Do on a Rainy Day," recently published in the Believer.

Muto

This really brilliant animated short, made by people of Buenos Aires, actually uses large public graffitti as the animation medium. How they were able to film this, I have absolutely no idea.
